Information about liver disease.

September 17, 2012

I recently found out about a patient information website about liver disease called mysickliver.  This site provides a wealth of information about liver disease, treatment, and transplant from the perspective of people who have liver disease.

End stage liver disease is extraordinarily difficult to manage and causes a bewildering array of symptoms.  See a description of stages of liver disease here.

I think it’s a wonderful thing that so many of us who suffer from chronic, progressive diseases are able to share our knowledge with others who need it.  I’d love to hear from more people about their websites.  I’m adding mysickliver to my resources page.

Thanks for the mention! We are a totally unaffiliated website that, as Caryl mentioned, are either caregivers, liver disease patients or liver transplant recipients who want to help demystify the complexities of debilitating liver disease and the liver transplant process.Liver disease is the 12th leading cause of death in the US and the 4th for people aged 45-54. We cover all types of liver disease: fatty liver, hepatitis B/C, alcoholic and many other diseases that lead to end-stage liver disease, also known as cirrhosis.
